International Ethics Colloquium ****************************************************************************************** * Assisted suicide and truth in focus of ethics and moral theology ****************************************************************************************** The international ethics colloquium took place at our faculty from 25th to 28th May 2022, students, doctoral students, and teachers from 11 countries in Europe, Africa, Asia, and A took place within the framework of the CEEPUS program focused on international academic ex Central and Eastern European region. At the heart of the colloquium were the themes of assisted suicide and truth, which were r interdisciplinary perspective with a focus on ethical issues and moral contexts. An import colloquium were presentations and discussions of dissertation projects in the field of the and bioethics, on which doctoral students are currently working at the universities in Vie The starting point for lively and intensive discussions on these topics were the lectures Gunter Prüller-Jagenteufel (Vienna) "Assisted Suicide: A Challenge for the Church and Theo Does It Mean to Tell the Truth?" a Dietrich Bonhoeffer's Short Essay as an Exemplary Realization of His Everyday Ethics". Oth oriented papers were delivered by prof. Dr. Dr. Sigrid Müller (Vienna), Dr. Lukáš Fošum OP Libor Ovečka SDB (Prague) and JUDr. Tomas Havelec (Česke Budejovice). The participants spe colloquium in the beautiful and inspiring environment of the Dominican Convent of St. Gile of Prague. The four-day meeting of teachers and doctoral students who work and research at the Cathol faculties in Prague and Vienna was a great opportunity to reflect on the urgent ethical is contemporary society as well as to exchange experiences and views on the topics.
